Chris Jacoby is originally from Long Island, New York. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, and went on to have a rewarding career spanning over fourteen years. In the Air Force, he held several positions within the Human Resources field that required strong communication skills, both written and spoken. Over the years, he honed those abilities by counseling airmen, briefing large audiences, and writing policy and procedural manuals. Through those experiences, he discovered that writing wasn’t just a job requirement—it was a skill he truly enjoyed. He learned to craft messages and documents with clarity and purpose, and took pride in the art of shaping ideas into written form.

Outside of work, he found writing to be a therapeutic outlet—a way to express feelings, reflect on life, or simply pass the time. But it wasn’t until after separating from the Air Force that he tapped into the creative side of his mind and realized he had stories to tell. His debut novel is the result of that discovery. What began as a short-story—written to release years of resentment and unresolved emotion over his abusive childhood and hidden identity—evolved into a much larger journey. As the story stayed with him over time, he realized there was more to tell and a greater purpose in telling it. He believed that his story could inspire others. And so, Unbound was born.

Chris currently resides in Omaha, Nebraska, with his husband, John, and their spirited dog, Ryder. He has three children and four grandchildren who bring joy and perspective to his life. When he’s not writing, Chris enjoys traveling, movie nights, and quiet moments with family.
